I don’t know about you but for me the worst thing about success is a little bit.
I can be an impatient little something.
It is hard when you don’t have the following you would like, when your business hasn’t grown as fast you though it should, when your blog still only has one reader and it’s you, when you start a new workout regiment and you don’t see anything, when you are trying something new with your kid and they still aren’t getting it…
I’m in a bible study and our scripture to mediate on and memorize last week was Do not despise, these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.
And boy oh boy did I need that. It stirred up something so big in my spirit and actually allowed grace to step in where I had unconsciously been self-criticizing.
The small beginnings are part of the journey. Vegetables and plants start as seeds before they blossom. Great inventions were once just great ideas. Oprah the billionaire mogul was once just a small abused girl from Mississippi. … small beginnings.
How we react and respond to the small beginnings often determine the decisions we make and actions we take toward the goal.
I’m reminded in this passage to just go forth and do the work, because no matter what others see or what I see, the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.
So I must forge ahead through my own resistance toward my purpose.
I pray many of you can use this passage to meditate on wherever you are dealing with the “small beginnings ” in your life and keep running the race before you because the Lord is rejoicing that the work has begun.
